Companies all around the world are building remote teams. This means exciting new opportunities for job seekers, but also more competition. You have to stand out, but when you’re on the other side of the rejection email, it can feel like you’re just another number in the hiring process.
I know it can be hard to be selected to the next stage of the interview process and I want to help. I started this blog to share advice and resources to help job seekers with today’s recruitment processes.
Some of the topics I will write about include:
🚀 Looking for your first job in tech
✨ Optimising your application to increase your chances of having an interview
💻 Preparing for an interview
👏 Thoughts on career development & resources
As a university student in Portugal, I struggled to land my first job. I was forced to take a creative approach that resulted in a job offer from Airbnb. I went on to help launch and grow their European HQ in Ireland to 600+ employees.
Today, as a Senior Manager at Loom, I’m building a global remote team to support our growing user base of 10 million. Being the 3rd employee in the company allowed me to help the team scale to over 120 Loommates (& counting!).
After a few years abroad living in Barcelona, Dublin, and Amsterdam, I now call Lisbon my home. As part of the Portuguese Women in Tech community I participate in talks and mentorship programs about being a woman in the tech industry.
If you’re not sure where to start your job search, be on the lookout for my newsletter. I share interesting job posts and recently funded companies to add to your job watchlist.
